SeeedStudio Grove Touch Sensor
Need to sense “touched part on a screen” with well-proven technology The Grove – Touch Sensor v1.1 is an ideal product for you. It enables you to replace the press with touch. It comes with an LED to indicate the touch. Using the TTP223-B touch detector IC, it measures the capacitance of a metallic pad and detects the change in capacitance when a finger is touched near it, so you can place the metallic pad under a non-metallic surface such as a plastic or glass sheet and it will work as a button. This is the same technology used in the touch screens of iPhones. This sensor can be useful for projects that need to be kept waterproof. By carefully positioning, you can make this touch sensor totally unnoticeable and you can protect it with special materials too. You can also make a secret button by placing this sensor in an unnoticeable manner behind a smooth surface. You can place it as per your design requirements, for instance, under a non-metallic table. By casually pressing the right location on a tabletop surface, you can seriously control your DIY projects. Isn’t it amazing? As always with Grove modules, this touch sensor is easy to connect to your Grove board and is connected to one of the input ports on your Arduino using a cable (not supplied).
