INTRODUCTION
Agriculture is one of the most important components of our society. Farmers produce food every day. Water is a critical part of successful agriculture. Technology has played a significant role in developing agriculture. The agriculture sector uses maximum water in the world. Indian economy is mainly based on the agriculture field and water is vanishing day by day due to its immense use. Irrigation is one solution to this problem because in drip irrigation water is supplied to plants. Irrigation saves a large amount of water. Water feeding to the agricultural field has to be done regularly with continuous monitoring. Manual irrigation is a traditional method in the world for water supply in agriculture form. So it is hard to decide to save water and get maximum profit from the field. Sensor-based networks are making huge progress in agriculture and networks, varieties of terminologies are now in use like Precision Agriculture, crop monitoring, automated irrigation system, etc. This project has temperature, soil moisture and humidity sensor which helps in keeping track of the agricultural land. These data are displayed on the Web UI through GSM and in the 16X2 LCD as well. Temperature shows in C, Humidity and soil moisture in %. When the soil moisture reaches above 30%, the microcontroller starts the motor to run water through the pump on the agricultural land.
The block diagram of IoT based Agriculture field monitoring system consists of:
- MCU Arduino UNO
- Soil Moisture Sensor
- Humidity & Temperature Sensor
- Relay and Motor
- GSM/GPRS Module
- Web UI
- 16X2 LCD
Circuit Working
This circuit is all about sensing the data at land, sending it to the microcontroller, displaying them in web UI and LCD and switch on the motor pump if the retrieved data shows the requirement. The microcontroller Arduino UNO takes the soil moisture data from soil moisture sensor, temperature data from temperature and humidity sensor and humidity data from temperature and humidity sensor. It then sends the input to the GSM/GPRS SIM800C and SIM800C sends them to the Web UI and Web UI displays them. Web UI is designed to have options for logging in, logout, display log data, motor status, and switch on the motor manually, going back to the home page and logout. Arduino UNO also sends a command to the 16X2 LCD to display soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and motor status. Having only 2 rows, the LCD shows two data at a time, temperature and humidity at a time and soil moisture and motor status at another time. Soil moisture data is showed in percentage (%), the temperature is showed in deg Celcius (C), humidity in percentage (%) and motor status in On and OFF. The microcontroller keeps an eye on the soil moisture and whenever the soil moisture reaches 30% or above, it switches on the motor automatically. The water is supplied into the land and after 15 minutes it gets off automatically. If required, the switch On and Off of microcontroller can be controlled manually through Web UI as well.
PROJECT TARGET
To achieve an efficient product that can be helpful in monitoring pumps at the agricultural fields.
Application
- It is applicable for any place where we need to sense temperature, humidity and soil moisture or and one of them.
- It is also applicable if we want to control the switch on and off any motor with respect to any of the data sensed above.
Note: We are Providing Printed Circuit Board and general-purpose PCB Based on Customer Requirements.
